The Derek Carr era is officially coming to an end. After declining to waive his no-trade clause to the Saints, the Raiders are expected to release Carr on Monday as his contract becomes guaranteed on Tuesday, February 14. That news was first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Media:

Carr played nine seasons for the Raiders, starting at least 15 games in each year. His best two seasons came in 2018 and 2019, but the rest of the roster just wasn’t very good, to say the least. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection, including the 2022 season as an alternate.
Once his release is finalized, Carr will be able to sign with any team he chooses. He doesn’t need to wait until the new league year in March to secure a deal. Expect him to find a new team rather quickly as he is expected to have interest from the Saints, Jets, and Buccaneers.
