Despite a win in Week 11, the 2022 season has been full of disappointments for the Raiders. From injuries to players underperforming, it’s been a frustrating season for fans of the Las Vegas Raiders.
But who has been the biggest disappointment of the season for the Raiders? In a recent article by Paul Gutierrez of ESPN, he wrote about the biggest underachiever for the Raiders this season.
That was none other than Chandler Jones, who was supposed to help fix the pass rush this year for Las Vegas. Here is what Gutierrez had to say about the former All-Pro edge rusher:
“Chandler Jones, the free-agent pickup who signed a three-year, $51 million deal to join Las Vegas, is credited with half a sack; that is less than practice squad call-up Tyler Hall, a cornerback. And as a team, the Raiders have a league-low 13 sacks.”
The Raiders signed Jones to a massive contract this offseason, hoping that he could be a bookend pass rusher with Maxx Crosby. That just hasn’t been the case as teams aren’t afraid of Jones anymore. There is still time for him to turn the season around, but his play has been incredibly disappointing so far.
