The Raiders made franchise history on Thursday night at the extremely painful expense of the Chargers.
Through 30 minutes of action, Las Vegas jumped out to an astonishing 42–0 lead over Los Angeles before halftime. As if that wasn’t enough, the Raiders were set to get the ball back to start the third quarter.
It is the largest halftime lead in Raiders franchise history.
To find any game even remotely close to the result that Las Vegas pulled off in 30 minutes on Thursday night, you have to go back to when the Raiders were still in Oakland—their first stint in Oakland.
The Raiders’ 35-0 lead on the Chargers would be their largest at the half of any game since Week 9 of 1971 when they led the Oilers 38-0.

Since 1971, the Raiders have moved from Oakland to Los Angeles back to Oakland and finally to Las Vegas. The Oilers are now the Titans.
Just four days ago, the Raiders lost the grossest game of the NFL season, a depressing 3-0 affair against the Vikings. After an absolutely painful performance on Sunday, they made the Chargers pay in prime time.
