The sales of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus this summer have revealed a transfer market reality that Manchester City must come to accept.
On Wednesday afternoon Chelsea confirmed the signing of Sterling in a deal worth at least £47.5m, bringing an end to the England star's seven-year spell at the Etihad Stadium.
The 27-year-old has played a key role in City's success in recent years, as he leaves the club with four Premier League winner's medals and five League Cup triumphs to his name. In 337 games for the Blues he recorded 225 direct goal contributions, a simply outstanding return.
