Manchester United fans will be licking their lips at the prospect of signing Jurrien Timber after Rafael van der Vaart gave his verdict on the youngster.
United supporters got another chance to see the defender in action on Saturday night as the Netherlands took on Poland. Timber has been identified as one of United's defensive targets this summer, with Erik ten Hag eyeing up a reunion with the Ajax youngster.
Timber started for his national side as they managed to rescue a 2-2 draw against Poland in the Nations League, maintaining their unbeaten record after three games. However, it wasn’t the 20-year-old’s finest performance in the famous orange jersey.

Timber was hauled off just after the hour mark, with Louis van Gaal admitting afterwards he thought Timber was on “his last legs” after a long domestic season. Nevertheless, the Ajax star was still earning rave reviews on Saturday.
Van der Vaart was full of praise for Timber as he spoke about the defender ahead of the game. The former Real Madrid and Tottenham ace also gave United fans a good indication of what they could expect next season.
“Timber is so quick, light feet, always sharp, never panicking on the ball. Almost like a great midfielder in defence,” Van der Vaart said.
He then turned to his fellow pundit Pierre van Hooijdonk and said: “A question for you, would you play [Stefan] De Vrij or Timber next to [Virgil] Van Dijk?" Van Hooijdonk replied: “Timber.”
