Radley suffers NSW Origin blues yet again

Victor Radley is set to go under the knife and will miss State of Origin selection yet again. (AAP)

Victor Radley has been dealt another State of Origin blow with the star Sydney Roosters forward set to undergo surgery on his injured ankle.

Radley will be sidelined for six to eight weeks with the syndesmosis injury, continuing his horror run with NSW Origin selection.

The lock will be unavailable for Origin 1 in Sydney on June 8 and most likely the second match in Perth on June 26.

The Blues have already lost fellow backrower Souths captain Cameron Murray to a shoulder injury, while heavyweight fullback Latrell Mitchell is out with hamstring damage.

Radley appeared at Roosters headquarters on Tuesday on crutches and with his foot in a moon-boot after being injured in a tackle in the Magic Round win over Parramatta.

He immediately clutched his ankle and was helped off Suncorp Stadium before heading for scans.

The 24-year-old has been robbed of playing State of Origin for the past two seasons.

In 2020 he suffered an ACL injury in round seven which ended his season while last year he cost himself a potential Origin debut when he was suspended for five games.

The two-time premiership forward was sin binned twice and placed on report a further two times in their round-11 match leading to the hefty ban.
