Kardashians stay silent on social media as Kanye West turns 45 after difficult year

Kanye West celebrates turning 45 today but so far, none of the Kardashian-Jenner clan have taken to social media to wish Kim Kardashian 's estranged husband a happy birthday.

Over the years, the reality TV family have wished exes and former partners well on their special day - including Kanye, who last year received public messages from Kim and her sisters on Instagram.

Kim - who shares four children with the Gold Digger rapper - even told her ex "love U for life" when wishing him a happy 44th birthday, just months on from filing for divorce from the dad-of-four.

Sister-in-law Khloe Kardashian was also on hand to pay tribute to the Grammy award-winning artist, calling the artist legally known as Ye her "brother for life" in a touching Instagram post to mark his birthday last year.

However, after a difficult year it seems Kanye - who split from girlfriend Chaney Jones earlier this week - has exhausted the goodwill of America's most famous family.

So far none of the reality TV legends have acknowledged Kim's former beau's birthday online, after some disturbing behaviour from Kanye earlier this year.

Although Kim and Kanye's split seemingly began on amicable terms - with Kim even 'remarrying' her ex on stage in August 2021 - thanks to Kanye's concerning social media posts and public outbursts over recent months, things have taken a more dramatic turn.

The rapper has struggled to see his soon-to-be ex-wife move on with Saturday Night alum Pete Davidson - often taking aim at the comedian in a string of now-deleted Instagram posts and even "killing" the comic in one of his music videos.

Kanye's social media attacks on Pete saw Kim unfollow her ex back in February this year, and even publicly appealed for the Donda rapper to calm down with his antics.

At one point, the mum-of-four texted her estranged husband to make him aware of the "scary" environment he was creating for Pete, only for Kanye to publicly share the private texts on Instagram.

Despite Kim being loved-up with funnyman Pete since October last year, Kanye has continued to try and win his soon-to-be ex-wife back on Valentine's Day - sending a truck load of flowers to the reality TV star's Hollywood home.

After a very active stint online, Kanye has been quiet on Instagram over recent weeks, with a promotional post for McDonalds being the only current post visible on the dad-of-four's page.

Despite not showing love for the father of her children online, Kim is making sure Kanye enjoys his birthday with their four children; North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, two.

"She has been taking the kids shopping to pick something out for their dad’s birthday," a source close to the aspiring lawyer told HollywoodLife ahead of Kanye turning 45.

"She wanted to make sure and buy a gift for their father from each of the kids because she still cares about Kanye, and that is just what mothers do.

"Kim believes it is important for their kids to spend his birthday with him, and she would never keep them away from their father."

Despite their ongoing divorce getting tricky at time, Kim has always stressed the importance of keeping things civil with an ex in front of the children.

Speaking in April, Kim opened up about her strained relationship with Kanye during an episode of Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast with Amanda Hirsch.

"Right now it's good when things are calm, we don't really communicate, but I think that's okay sometimes," the star admitted during the candid chat.

"We will. We always will. That's just who I am."

Kim went on to confess she will always have "so much love" for her former partner, despite their current situation.

"I spent a decade of my life with this person, and I just have so much love for him. So that'll never change, but it doesn't mean that they're the right one for you and that's okay too," the reality TV mogul explained to Amanda.
