Radio presenter causes frenzy with slow cooker mini eggs recipe

Radio star Chelsea Norris whet fans' appetites for Easter as she shared her recipe for a mini eggs chocolate cake made in the slow cooker. The former Key 103 and BBC Radio Manchester breakfast show presenter was flooded with messages after she posted about her sweet creation.

She shared a picture of mini eggs and blocks of chocolate simmering together, saying: "Slow cooked mini eggs chocolate cakes on the way." Chelsea took to Instagram Stories with a video to talk followers through how to make it themselves.

"I did a post before about slow-cooked mini egg chocolate cake and I've had about 14 million people going 'what, what is this? explain'" She said: "Get your slow cooker out, turn it on high, and you put in a can of condensed milk, add a 400g block of chocolate - I opted for Dairy Milk, that's the really, really big one. Put that in little bits inside, add a teaspoon of vanilla essence."

Turning to the main ingredient, the mini eggs, she said: "Add a packet of these bad boys and and save another packet. Leave it for an hour, stir it all up, put it into a baking tin, put more of these on top, refrigerate for a day - that's it."

Chelsea, from Stockport, then cut to the finished cake at the decorating stage as she was helped in the kitchen by her seven-year-old daughter Minnie. Minnie added the final flourish as she was in charge of placing the eggs on top of the cake.

Chelsea, who now presents on Happy Radio and has a home interiors shop Minnie and Teds in Bramhall, said one follower had pointed out it was fudge rather than cake, saying: "I'm reliably informed this is fudge not cake.

However, she added with agreement from Minnie: "But it doesn't make any difference because it tastes good and is very naughty." Mum-of-two Chelsea also has a two-year-old son Barney.
