Former S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens will not skate in Dancing On Ice this weekend due to injury, ITV has said.
The broadcaster said in a statement: “Due to an injury sustained in training and on the expert advice from the Dancing On Ice medical professionals, Rachel Stevens will not skate in this Sunday’s show. We look forward to her returning to the show next weekend.”
It's the latest blow for the ITV series as Happy Mondays dancer Bez has announced he has tested positive for Covid-19 the day after making his Dancing On Ice debut.
Bez told the Daily Star: “I’ve had a positive test.
“I’m gutted because I’m going to be missing training but I’m looking forward to skating on the show again for Week Three and I’ll be tuning at home and cheering on my mates who are skating this weekend.”
Brendan Cole and Kimberly Wyatt topped the Dancing On Ice leaderboard on Sunday, while Happy Mondays dancer Bez finished at the bottom after descending to the rink on giant maracas.
After all the celebrities had performed, it was revealed that broadcaster Ria Hebden will be returning next week to battle it out in the skate-off.
This year's series features Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor, Love Island’s Liberty Poole, Happy Mondays dancer Bez, Paralympian Stef Reid, rugby star Ben Foden, Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, Paul Gascoigne’s son and dancer Regan Gascoigne, pop star Rachel Stevens, professional dancer Brendan Cole, presenter Ria Hebden, BMX Olympic silver medallist Kye Whyte and The Vamps’ Connor Ball.
Dancing on Ice is on Sundays on ITV hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
