Rachael Blackmore has shown her class once again by taking the time to send a lovely video message to 10-year-old pony racer from Shropshire in England.
The girls in question is Lexi Everington, a pony racer who has gained attention due to a brilliant article she wrote for the Grassroots Gazette, where she detailed her love of racing.
In the piece, Lexi also writes about how Rachael Blackmore is one of her inspirations and someone that she aspires to be like. Lexi wrote about her hero saying, "The one and only Rachael Blackmore she’s hardworking, dedicated, brave and a kind natural horsewomen.
"She has inspired so many young jockeys into the sport. I would love to be lucky enough to spend a morning at the gallops with her."
History maker Blackmore, who became the first woman ever to win the Grand National in 2021, saw Lexi's kind words and decided to send a touching video message to the 10-year-old.
"Hi Lexi, Rachael Blackmore here. Just wanted to send you a quick message to say hi.
"I saw an article you did and I was very, very impressed. Mostly impressed with your pictures, you're a lot more stylish than I ever was at your age and probably am now.
"So well done, you're doing a really great job. Jerry looks like a really cool pony as well, so I look forward maybe to meeting you at the races some day. Keep up the good work with the pony racing.
"Keep the hands down and the heels down are probably two little bits of advice, but from the look of those pictures, you're doing a really good job so far.
"Keep it up, keep enjoying it and I look forward to meeting you someday."
