Suraj Panwar, a race walker, is preparing for an extraordinary journey at his first Olympic Games in Paris, where he will compete in a mixed event without his usual training partner. However, Panwar is no stranger to challenges.
Tragedy struck when he was just a baby, as his father, Udai Singh Panwar, a forest guard, lost his life while attempting to stop illegal tree logging. From that point on, Panwar's mother, Poonam, who worked at the forest department's nursery near Dehradun, raised him on her own and encouraged his athletic pursuits.
