Race hate cops hunt pregnant suspect after woman abused in car park at Scots hospital

A woman has been left “badly shaken” after a trio of yobs hurled racist abuse at her while sitting in her car at a Scots hospital.

Police are investigating the hate crime which took place at around 10.40am on Tuesday, February 8, within the grounds of Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

A 58-year-old woman was inside her motor in Car Park 1 when she was approached by a man who knocked on her window.

The suspect, who is described as Asian, proceeded to shout racial comments at her before he was joined by another man and a pregnant woman.

The lady in the car was left “extremely upset” over the incident which ended with all three suspects walking away together.

Officers say the area was busy with other hospital users at the time of the incident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The first male suspect was wearing a grey coloured top and trousers, stood at around 5ft 5 in tall and had exited a red coloured car.

The second man, who is also Asian, is described as being around 5ft 8in and came out of a black car.

The woman, who was pregnant, is also believed to be Asian and around 5ft 8in tall.

Officers have been reviewing CCTV images for any additional information on the incident.

Sergeant Nicola Robb said: "This incident has left the victim extremely upset. I am appealing to those people and motorists who were in that area at the time to get in touch with us.

“Any small piece of information could prove significant."

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1683 of 8 February, 2022.

Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
