Quote of the day by Mads Mikkelsen focuses on a statement in which the Danish actor spoke about luck, work and the uncertainty of an acting career. Mikkelsen said, “I’m in a very lucky position. You have to remember that 95 percent of all actors aren’t working.” He made the comment while discussing his career and work in France during a 2014 interview connected with The Salvation. The film was presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014. In the interview, Mikkelsen also said that he was based in Copenhagen and had not actually worked in the United States, even though American audiences had seen him in films and television shows.
The statement offers a view of success from someone who had already established a career in Denmark and was gaining wider recognition. Instead of treating regular work as something guaranteed, he described it as a situation that could change.
