Quote of the day by Anton Chekhov: 'If you are afraid of loneliness, don't marry', and a surprising take on human psychology and relationships

One of the most famous quotes by Russian writer Anton Chekhov is his pithy take on marriage, in which he implied that it inevitably results in loneliness. And those who are afraid of loneliness should not marry. Chekhov wrote this in his collection of private thoughts, 'Notebook of Anton Chekhov', which was published posthumously in 1921. Interestingly, Chekhov did get married when he was 41, three years before his death.
