Reports claiming that pop star Pink and her husband Carey Hart have split after 20 years together have dominated headlines in recent days, but the couple appear to be pushing back. While PEOPLE reported that the pair, who met in 2001 and married in 2006, had decided to part ways on Thursday, 26 February, Pink has publicly dismissed the rumours as unfounded.
The renewed focus on their relationship has also prompted fresh curiosity about Hart himself, a comparatively low‑profile figure despite his long marriage to one of the industry's most recognisable singers.
When Carey Met Alecia
Before meeting Pink (real name Alecia Beth Moore‑Hart), Hart had already made a name for himself as a professional motorcycle racer. Born and raised in Las Vegas, he became known on the motocross and freestyle circuits and famously attempted a back flip on a 250 cc motorcycle during the 2001 X Games in Philadelphia. Although he suffered several injuries in a serious crash, he ultimately walked away from the event with his future wife.
The couple began dating later that year, building a relationship that would span public highs, private lows and two decades under the spotlight
The Unexpected Proposal
After four years together, it was Pink who decided to move things to the next level, and she did it in characteristically unconventional fashion. Rather than waiting for Hart to propose, the singer popped the question herself in front of a live crowd at one of his races in California.
Holding up a sign that read, 'Will you marry me?', she tried to get his attention mid‑race. When he did not immediately respond, she raised a second sign saying, 'I'm serious!' Hart pulled out of the race so he could accept the proposal, and the pair later married in Costa Rica in January 2007.
A Rocky Road for The Couple
The relationship has not always been smooth. In February 2008, Pink and Hart decided to separate, stepping back from the marriage after less than a year as husband and wife.
During their time apart, Hart suffered a major personal loss when his brother died in August 2008. Pink supported him through the tragedy, and by 2009 the couple confirmed they were working on their marriage with the help of counselling.
Their reconciliation laid the groundwork for the next chapter of their family life.
A Bundle of Joy or Two
In June 2011, Pink gave birth to the couple's first child, daughter Willow. She was followed by their second child, son Jameson, born in December 2016.
Both children appear to have inherited their parents' passions. Willow has shown an interest in singing, following in her mother's musical footsteps, while Jameson is drawn to sports such as skateboarding and dirt biking, echoing Hart's motocross background.
Did He Cheat on Her?
As with many high‑profile couples, Pink and Hart have faced cheating allegations over the years. Rumours suggested their 2008 separation was triggered after Hart was seen with a mystery woman the year before.
Hart has consistently and vehemently denied the accusations, calling the claims 'a bunch of trash talk'.
Are They Really Breaking Up?
Despite fresh speculation about a possible split, Pink has addressed the latest reports directly. Posting on Instagram, the 'Cover Me in Sunshine' singer rejected claims of a crumbling marriage, telling fans: 'If you don't hear it from me, don't believe the hype.'
Her comment signals a clear attempt to shut down the narrative around an alleged break‑up, even as online discussion continues.
Hart has yet to make a public statement about the current status of his marriage to Pink.
