Manchester Airport queues saw a couple miss their flight to Barcelona to celebrate a Ruby wedding anniversary. Mike Turner was off to Spain with husband Luke Hartbottle and his parents Tom and Marie Turner who were marking 40 years of marriage.
Mike said the family had to spend £614 for new tickets to rescue the trip after getting caught up in huge queues. They had already spent £630 on easyJet tickets for the special trip.
The 41-year-old claimed a wait for baggage check-in, security queues which snaked into the airport, as well as a further delay at the baggage scanners meant they arrived at the gate too late to catch their flight, Manchester Evening News reports.
