Questions remain over a fire that ripped through a warehouse amid safety concerns.
The blaze broke out at an industrial estate on Manor Street in St Helens on Sunday, June 26, sending smoke billowing through the area. Four fire engines and an aerial appliance then were sent to the scene at 8.15pm, where the fire had engulfed a 20 by 30 metre warehouse.
People were asked to keep their windows and doors shut as the fire raged on into the night. Seven fire engines were sent to the scene at the height of the incident as crews used compressed air foam to protect nearby buildings.

Road closures remained in place on Manor Street and the adjacent Jackson Street until Monday afternoon, with all fire crews having left the scene by 12.30pm.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service told the ECHO an investigation into the cause of the fire is yet to take place but it could not rule out whether one would happen in the near future. The ECHO understands issues with gas isolation and the structural safety of the remains of the building may have prevented an investigation taking place so far.
Photos taken earlier this week show the extent of the damage caused to the warehouse which was decimated by the blaze.
