Man in hospital after Range Rover and Ford Focus crash on Queens Drive

A man was rushed to hospital after a crash between two cars on Queens Drive.

Merseyside Police rushed to the major city road, at The Navigator traffic lights, at 4.20pm on Thursday, September 15, following reports of a crash. Once at the scene officers found a Range Rover and a Ford Fiesta had crashed and they requested help from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service.

Police closed a section of Queens Drive northbound while the vehicles are recovered and investigations are carried out. A spokesperson Merseyside Police said the driver of the Ford was treated by paramedics at the scene, but in a later update confirmed a man was rushed to hospital following the crash.

Today, a little white coffin, adorned with rainbow stripes and pink butterflies, carried little Olivia Pratt-Korbel to her final resting place.

Before the cortège arrived, primary school children, gently encouraged by their teachers, hung the name of their murdered friend in big pink letters on the railings outside their school, St Margaret Mary's Catholic Junior.

Then a broken family fought to hold it together on the most difficult of days, the grief etched on their faces at odds with the cheerful splashes of pink on scarves, ties, and dresses in the crowds of mourners.

'Piece of the puzzle missing' as mum and teenage son found dead in flat

A 'happy-go-lucky' mum and her teenage son were found dead in their beds two days after red flags were raised.

Jenny Smith, 37, and her 17-year-old son Joseph were found at their Marmion Road home, near Sefton Park, on February 22 2022. Jenny was found under a duvet in the main bedroom, while Joseph was found on a makeshift bed on the living room floor.

Toxicology tests showed the pair had both died from a massive overdose of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid 50 to 100 times stronger than morphine.
