The Queen will not attend the Royal Family's annual Easter Sunday church service this weekend, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
Members of the Royal Family will attend the Easter Mattins Service at St George's Chapel in Windsor, though this year, the 95-year-old monarch will not. The Queen has also pulled out of attending today's traditional Royal Maundy Service, which is also being held at St George's Chapel.
She was reportedly 'regretfully unable to commit' to being at today's annual service, which usually sees the monarch distribute special Maundy money to pensioners. For the first time, Prince Charles – accompanied by Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall – is representing the Queen at the ceremony.

The monarch, who will turn 96 next week, has reportedly been experiencing mobility issues. Palace aides have admitted in recent weeks that Her Majesty has 'good days and less good days' in terms of being able to get about.
She has been forced to cut back on engagements since being hospitalised for a night last October for an unspecified illness, and then being told by her doctors to rest.
