The late Queen was "devoted" to her grandson Prince Harry and "understood" his desire to write a memoir, a new book has claimed.
Harry's memoir Spar e is being released early in the New Year and it promises to have "raw, unflinching honesty".
It will no doubt cover his early life growing up in the royal family and how he and wife Meghan sensationally quit as working royals and moved their lives to California with their children Archie and Lilibet.
The book will be released just weeks after the couple's explosive Netflix documentary, which airs tomorrow - and just months after the death of the late Queen - Harry's beloved grandmother.
And even though the monarch had to tell with the fallout of 'Megxit' and what it meant for the Firm, a new book has claimed she truly wished him and Meghan well with their decision to step back.
In his brand new book Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, biographer and friend of the royals Gyles Brandreth writes that the late Queen knew Harry wanted to "speak his truth".
He says: "The Queen, I know, was devoted to her grandson, Harry. She loved him, she thought him 'huge fun', and she truly wished him well in the new life he sought for himself in California.
"Whenever he called his grandmother, he was always put through to Her Majesty immediately.
"She even 'understood' his desire to write his book, not only for the money but because he wanted to tell his story – to speak his truth."
The book, which is out tomorrow, comes after Harry and Meghan were given an award last night for their activism work.
Harry and Meghan received the Ripple of Hope Award at a gala by the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights (RFKHR) organisation on Tuesday night.
The accolade honours exemplary leaders across government, business, advocacy, and entertainment, and the pair were recognised for their racial justice and mental health work.
The couple said in a statement: "Together we know that a ripple of hope can turn into a wave of change."
It came just hours before the launch of the couple’s tell-all Netflix show, which is due to begin streaming on Thursday.
The royal family is bracing itself for bombshell revelations, with Harry speaking of a “hierarchy in the family”, a “dirty game”, and warning “we know the full truth” in a trailer for the show.
