Now that the Platinum Jubilee has finally arrived, Brits across the country are catching the various events on offer.
Today, Thursday June 2, was Trooping the Colour, a massive military parade in honour of the Queen’s 70-year reign.
It isn’t the only mesmerising display, as the Platinum Jubilee Pageant is set to be one of the most glamorous evenings in years.
Of course, the Queen will be in attendance, along with various members of the Royal Family.
It will be one of the last events of the bank holiday, but it will be hard to miss when it gets underway.
What is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant?
The pageant is a huge event that has cost £15million to set up.
It brings together the arts of music, theatre and carnival, along with the entire event being split into four acts.
These acts are a military parade - For Queen And Country and The Time of Our Lives showcasing seven decades of culture.
There is also Let’s Celebrate, which will tell the life of the Queen through the use of corgi puppets, and the Happy and Glorious music event that will even include a performance from Ed Sheeran.
What time is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant?
The pageant will begin at 2:30pm on Sunday June 5.
Due to it being a live performance, its exact length may vary, but it is expected to last until 5pm.
It will be moving through central London, and if you want to see the show, there is no reason to worry about getting a last-minute ticket.
How to see Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant in person
The pageant is completely open for the public to enjoy with no tickets required to see the show.
As it is moving through central London, it is best to get your spot early at whichever location best suits you, as it is expected to be incredibly busy.
As stated on the Platinum Jubilee’s official website: “The Pageant will start on Whitehall, turn under Admiralty Arch and then process up The Mall before finishing outside Buckingham Palace around Queen Victoria Memorial.”
You will be able to follow it as it goes from location to location but expect countless amounts of people to be doing the same.
How to watch Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant at home
If you don’t fancy bobbing and weaving through the masses to see the show in person, or you are situated outside of London, there is no reason to worry about missing the spectacle.
The BBC will be covering the event on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with the broadcast kicking off at 1pm.
