The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is set to take place over this long weekend, with a number of beacons being lit across Leeds in celebration.
Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating her 70th year on the throne and celebrations will take place across Leeds. The beacons, which form part of the celebrations, will be lit tonight across the UK at 9:45pm.
More than 2,022 beacons will be lit in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories, and one in each of the capital cities of Commonwealth countries in celebration of this milestone. There will be a total of nine beacon lightings across the city this evening.
