Queen's Park's pre-season friendly match with League One club Alloa Athletic was abandoned after a horrific injury for former goalkeeper Willie Muir.
The stopper made 188 appearances for the Glasgow club before his departure earlier this summer after 16 appearances during the 2020/21 season that resulted in promotion to the Scottish Championship. He was appearing as a trialist for the third tier side based at the Indodrill in an attempt to win a contract for the new term but proceedings were halted 10 minutes from time at 0-0.
He collided with Spiders defender Charlie Fox and was knocked unconscious. Queen's Park tweeted an update which read 'The game is ended after 80 minutes after a horrible collision between Fox and trialist keeper for Alloa (who ex-Spider Willie Muir) who requires medical treatment. It ended Alloa 0-0 Queen’s Park' while their opponents provided more updates on the situation surrounding the 29-year-old.

They said on social media in the aftermath: "A really sad note to end tonight. it looks serious. Medical staff attending to him and stretchered off the park. Hopefully, it's not as bad as it looks."
A report from the Daily Mail states Muir was taken to hospital in an ambulance following the incident and had regained consciousness.
He was kept in overnight for 'further tests and treatment.' Owen Coyle's men start their competitive season in the Premier Sports Cup against Stranraer on Saturday.
