Queen's Park and Partick Thistle played out a five-goal thriller as the city rivals clashed in the Scottish Championship for the first time this season.
Owen Coyle's Spiders are new to the second tier and suffered a collapse in their first home outing of the season as they chucked away a two-goal lead against Ayr United to end up losing out 3-2 on the night. Once again, they were involved in a blockbuster as Ian McCall brought his Jags side to Ochilview. New summer recruit Grant Savoury fired the hosts in front with 36 minutes on the clock but Jack McMillan levelled the scoring just after the hour.
However, the visitors were only level for three minutes as Tommy Robson put the Championship new boys back in front. Skipper for the day Simon Murray then opened up a two-goal advantage as he continued his fine form so far this campaign. Thistle grabbed a late goal to give themselves hope with Anton Dowds on the scoresheet with three minutes left on the clock.

But Coyle and Co held out for a first win of the season to move into fourth spot after three games. Thistle are on the same points but one place back with the two sides also scoring six and conceding six goals so far.
Next up for the Spiders is a trip to Arbroath with the Jags hosting Inverness.
