There has been a longstanding tradition in the UK to celebrate the Royal Family's reign.
Each Jubilee has set the skies ablaze to honour Britain’s longstanding Queen, Elizabeth II.
This year is set to be the biggest ever, with all of the Commonwealth getting involved across the world.
As part of the Platinum Jubilee, the lighting of the beacons is one of the main events of the year to mark the Queen’s historic 70-year rule.
Here is everything you need to know about the Queen's Jubilee Beacons event, including date, what time they will be lit and how to take part.
What is the Queen’s Jubilee Beacons event?
It is just one event to help celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The Commonwealth will unite in lighting beacons to honour and celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.
Historically, beacons have been used to communicate between villages and towns, though today they are used as a symbol of unification and peace.
When is the Queen’s Jubilee Beacons event?
The beacons are set to take to the sky from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 in June.
For those at home taking part in the event, lit your beacons at 9.45pm.
The beacons in overseas territories and the Commonwealth will be lit at 9.15pm local time, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Anchor Chain will be lit at 9.30pm and the Beacons along Hadrian’s Wall will be lit at 10pm.
It will be a sight to behold across the long weekend and there are plenty of options for where to go and see it in person.
Where will the Queen’s Jubilee Beacons event take place?
Beacons will adorn the skies of Britain across the nation.
A main event will be held in London, but beacons will be lit in all 54 Commonwealth capitals for the first time.

How can you take part in the Queen's Jubilee Beacons event?
There are three types of beacons that the public can use or take part in over the long weekend from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 in June.
The first is a free standing gas beacon, the second is a beacon brazier and the third is a bonfire beacon.
What your community choses to use will depend upon whether or not there is pre-existing beacons locally, or on the environment you wish to hold the event in.
You will need to register to take part and complete a form outlining where your event will take place and all the details surrounding it.
Registration must be completed before May 31.
If your community has a pre-existing beacon, it is encouraged to be lit as part of the festivities.
For any communities and groups looking to take part in the event, the government's official Jubilee website has all the details.
