Queen's corgis were 'absolute godsend' when things got tough during her reign

They have become an iconic part of the British monarchy thanks to Queen Elizabeth II - and it all started from her childhood.

The Queen's fascination with corgis began when she was just a girl living at 145 Piccadilly, London, UK with her parents and sister, Princess Margaret.

Her father, King George VI, gifted his daughters a Pembrokeshire Welsh corgi in 1933 - and the pooch quickly stole the future Queen's heart.
