Queen's childhood friend blasts 'shameful' Netflix series The Crown over falsehoods

A dear friend of late Queen Elizabeth has hit out at Netflix's hit royal drama The Crown following the release of it's fifth season.

Lady Glenconner, who acted as maid of honour at the Queen's coronation, insisted that the Netflix show makes her 'so angry' because it's a 'complete fantasy' and 'so unfair on members of the Royal Family'.

Close friend to the Royals, Lady Glenconner had known the Queen since she was a child and she also acted as a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth's sister, Princess Margaret, for more than 30 years.

Lady Glenconner, 90, said what angers her the most is the fact that some people, especially American's who tune into watch the Royal drama, believe every scenario to be completely true.

"It's so irritating. I don't watch The Crown now because it just makes me so angry. And it's so unfair on members of the royal family," the late Queen's friend complained.

Netflix has continued to defended the show, stating that it 'has always been presented as a drama based on historical events'.

"I mean, of course that never happened," Lady Glenconner insisted.
