Queens boss Wullie Gibson was left gutted by his side’s humbling 4-1 defeat to Clyde on Saturday.
The Doonhamers got off to a flyer scoring after 25 seconds only to throw away the lead and totally lose their composure in the second half.
Gibson said: “I don’t want to talk too much on it.
“Bad performance, terrible result and for me there were no positives to take from the game whatsoever.
“I felt they outworked, outfought and bullied us and overall it just wasn’t good enough.”
Lee Connelly went from the highs of scoring the opener to being sent off after a rash challenge on Conner Duthie which left Gibson raging.
He added: “I’ve just said in there he’ll be hammered for that.
“It was reckless. It was at the time of the game where there’s no need to make that tackle at all whatsoever. So we’re now missing him for the next three games so he’s let every one of us down.
“He’s under no illusion and he’s got a fight on his hands now because he leaves himself out of the team for three games so he puts himself under pressure. Because if the boys go on and do better he’ll find it hard to get back in the team.”
The game came off the back of a decent pre-season and qualification in the Premier Sports Cup but Gibson insisted this was the big game. He wasn’t helped by Calvin McGrory going down with an ankle injury.
He said: “I don’t look too much into pre-season, I don’t get too up or down. We didn’t get carried away.
“We qualified but it took a lot of luck. I always said today was the big thing. It’s the start of the campaign – at home – in front of your own fans and boy have we let them down.
“Calvin’s got a bad one. His ankle is very swollen so we’ll need to wait and see how that is.”
