Queen of roguelikes Hades 2 gets "bonus content and quality-of-life improvements" alongside PS5 and Xbox versions next month

Hades 2 protagonist Melinoe.

Our ranking of the best roguelikes proudly puts Hades 2 at the very top, but the game's had one especially notable flaw since its 1.0 launch last September: PlayStation and Xbox fans can't get it. Developer Supergiant Games has announced that's about to change in April, but existing players also have something to look forward to in the form of an update with additional content.

Hades 2 hits PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on April 14, and will be part of Xbox Game Pass at launch. These editions "run at an ultrafast 120 frames per second," Supergiant says in its announcement, "and these latest versions also include some bonus content and quality-of-life improvements we've been working on in the meantime! If you already have the game, expect these in a patch releasing that the same day, and we'll have full patch notes then."

You can get a teaser of that new content in the trailer below, which features a new scene with Heracles in a glisteningly glorious state of moistness. That's pretty on brand for a game so well known – and beloved – for its ultra-hot cast of characters, but somehow it's not even the thirstiest new thing in this trailer.

That honor goes to the new animated intro featuring protagonist Melinoe suiting up for battle, which comes with the apparent implication that she's been going commando under that little dress the entire time. Honestly, that's probably just accurate to a mythological Grecian setting. There's also a gratuitous foot shot for the Tarantino fans among you.

"They knew what they were doing with that thumbnail and intro," as one Reddit commenter notes. Look, what do you expect from a game about the Greek pantheon?

Check out our Hades 2 review if you're on the fence ahead of the new versions.
