Queen Elizabeth II died before her grandson Prince Harry got onto a plane to Scotland to see her and say his last goodbye, timings on her death certificate have revealed.
According to the late monarch's death certificate, published by National Records of Scotland on Thursday, the Queen died at 3.10pm on September 8, at Balmoral Castle in Ballater.
At 1.50pm that day, a spokesperson for The Duke of Sussex announced he would be travelling to Scotland.
The royal's aides struggled to get him on a plane to be at the Queen's side, whereas William caught a flight from RAF Northolt, alongside Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.
Harry boarded flight G-LEAX at London Luton Airport and departed for Aberdeen at 5.35pm on September 8, 20 minutes after the flight was originally scheduled to depart.
He was therefore on this plane to Aberdeen when he received the crushing phone call from his father notifying him of the news. By the time he landed in Aberdeen, at 6.46pm, the news of the Queen's death had been announced to the world.
He was photographed wearing a black suit and tie as he sat in the back of a car, as he was whisked to the royal estate just before 8pm.
He appeared sombre as he was seen arriving at Balmoral.
The late monarch's death certificate was signed by Anne, the Princess Royal. She was by her side, as was her eldest son Charles who was seen flying to Balmoral with wife Camilla and arrived at 10.30am.
However, the confirmation of timings show that Prince William, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex didn't arrive in time to say a final goodbye to their beloved mother and grandmother either.
They cleared their schedule as soon as doctors expressed their concern, boarding a flight at 2.39pm. However they didn't arrive until 3.50pm, which means they likely learned the news while they were in the air.
They arrived at Balmoral just after 5pm.
Buckingham Palace issued a statement at 12.30 pm on September 8, saying that doctors were concerned for her health and recommended she remain under medical supervision.
Her death was announced publicly at 6.30 pm, as the palace announced: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon."
On the certificate, Douglas James Allan Glass is noted as the certifying registered medical practitioner.
Old age was the only cause of death listed, with no other contributing factors.
Paul Lowe, the Registrar General for Scotland, confirmed that the Queen’s death was registered in Aberdeenshire on September 16 2022.
Harry reportedly snubbed a dinner invite with Charles and William at Balmoral on the day the Queen died after Meghan was banned from joining the royals.
The Duke of Sussex insisted Meghan join him, before Charles called to say it was "not appropriate", sources claim.
It is understood Charles believed saying goodbye to Her Majesty should be restricted to the closest family as Kate, now Princess of Wales, did not attend.
