Updates as The Queen placed under medical supervision after doctors' concerns
Buckingham Palace announced the Queen has been placed under medical supervision.
Doctors checked on Queen Elizabeth II this morning (September 8) and confirmed she is comfortable at Balmoral. The 96-year-old monarch pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, a day after appointing Liz Truss as PM at her home in the Scottish Highlands.
Kensington Palace said The Duke of Cambridge is travelling to Balmoral. T he Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall have travelled to Balmoral, Clarence House said.

A Palace spokesperson said: "Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

Police issue update as boy, 16, fights for life after being hit by bus
A teenager is fighting for his life after being hit by a bus.
An air ambulance attended the scene of a crash on Green Lane, Maghull, at around 5.25pm on Friday, September 2 and took the teenager to hospital. At the scene, police reported a teenage boy, aged 16, was hit by a single decker bus.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation."

Liverpool ONE to scrap 'love heart' Christmas tree as plans for 2022 confirmed
Liverpool ONE has unveiled its Christmas plans for 2022.
The shopping centre will have a new Christmas tree and a ski holiday-inspired alpine wonderland will be taking over Chavasse Park this festive season. Liverpool Alpine Village will offer activities for all of the family to enjoy, including karaoke, curling, shuffleboard, prosecco pong, wreath making and market stalls.
Donna Howitt, place strategy director at Liverpool ONE, said: "Christmas at Liverpool ONE and, indeed, the wider city is always a special time. Our much-recognised heart tree at Paradise Street had become synonymous with Christmas at Liverpool ONE and was a colourful, much-loved part of our decorations."
