Queen Consort Camilla cancels Royal visits after testing positive for Covid

Queen Consort Camilla will be missing from Royal duties this week, due to testing positive for Covid.

Camilla was planning to visit Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham on Monday (February 13) to celebrate the school's centenary, reports the Mirror. The Queen Consort was then due to head to Southwater One Library in Telford - but these will now be rearranged.

It was reported previously that Camilla was missing from the visits due to a "seasonal illness". But now, it's confirmed that the King's wife is suffering from Covid.

She is said to be in good spirits and is resting, but disappointed to be missing her Royal engagements. The Palace said in a statement: "After suffering the symptoms of a cold, Her Majesty The Queen Consort has tested positive for the Covid virus.

"With regret, she has therefore cancelled all her public engagements for this week and sends her sincere apologies to those who had been due to attend them."

On Wednesday, Camilla was due to host a reception at Clarence House to celebrate the second anniversary of her Reading Room book club. Then on Thursday, she was scheduled to join King Charles on a trip to Milton Keynes to celebrate its new city status.

The Queen Consort's last engagement was Thursday last week, where she visited the Storm Family Centre - a charity that supports domestic abuse survivors in south London. And it was also almost a year to the day that Buckingham Palace announced in 2022 that Camilla had tested positive for Covid.

It came after her husband Charles contracted the virus for a second time, and sources said Camilla was "triple vaccinated".

And in the aftermath, Camilla was forced to cancel an event while suffering with symptoms of the virus. She later revealed she had been left with a slight cough in the aftermath.

At the time, Camilla met a group of record-breaking charity rowers at Clarence House, and told them: "Well, it's taken me three weeks and I still can’t get shot of it.

"Probably my voice might suddenly go coughing and spluttering."
