Queen Camilla's Coronation gown included heartfelt nod to her beloved rescue dogs

King Charles III has officially been crowned at Westminster Abbey today (May 6) in a remarkable Coronation ceremony alongside Queen Camilla.

The monarch was decked out in various regalia that is steeped in history and tradition, including 'priceless' priest-like gold robes. Meanwhile, his wife Camilla wore a white Coronation dress adorned in gold embroidery.

While the stunning gown looked fit for any royal, the dress was meaningfully and specially crafted for the former Duchess of Cornwall.

Thanks to sweet detailing in the luxury gown, the Queen managed to bring her pets along for the marvellous ceremony.

In a sweet detail spotted by eagle-eyed royal fans, her gown paid tribute to Camilla's two Jack Russells, who were honoured in gold thread.

While intricate embroidery covered the floor-length dress, a viewer spotted the dog-shaped stitching on the bottom of the gown.

Flocking to Twitter, fans gushed over the iconic Bruce Oldfield gown, which referenced the Queen's beloved rescue dogs.

"OH. MY. GOD." The social media captioned the photo alongside a snap of the heartfelt stitching of two Jack Russells.

As a proud owner of two pooches, Beth and Bluebell, the subtle figures are believed to be a heartfelt nod to Camilla's canine companions.

Ever since the royal adopted the terriers in 2017 from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, they have lived with her at Clarence House.

Before being rescued by the charity, the pooches had heart-breaking backstories.

Speaking previously to BBC Radio 5 Live, Camilla said: "Along I went to Battersea, and Beth appeared, and she had just been moved from pillar to post and dumped. We thought it would be nice for her to have a friend.

"They found [Bluebell] two or three weeks later, wandering about in woods, no hair on her, covered in sores, virtually dead. And they nursed her back to life and her hair grew again. She's very sweet, but a tiny bit neurotic, shall we say."

In addition to the personal dog figures, the white fabric was intricately embellished with other designs, including a variety of flowers.

While the dogs were an obvious nod to Camila's beloved pets, the floral stitching was a tribute to her husband.

Couture designer Bruce incorporated the flower garlands and leaves in honour of King Charles since the pair share a love of the great outdoors.
