Quality Street brings back discontinued chocolate but fans are angry at the choice

Quality Street has caused uproar with chocolate fans in recent months, after the iconic shiny packaging was changed to be more environmentally friendly. And now there is even more upset, as the tinned sweet company has announced it's bringing back a discontinued sweet from days gone by - but it's not what people were hoping for.

The Honeycomb Crunch variety has been reintroduced in the Christmas favourite tubs that are on sale in John Lewis. But Quality Street fans had been hoping and pleading that the Coffee Creme would be brought back instead, according to the Mirror.

Wrapped in brown paper, it contained a rich coffee fondant-filled dark chocolate, and some have been left pining for it following an announcement by Quality Street on social media.

Posting to Facebook, the chocolate company wrote: "It's that time again…..We're BACK in John Lewis & Partners with a NEW tin and an exclusive sweet…the Honeycomb Crunch!"

And while many were excited at the comeback, it was clear to see that the Coffee Creme was still sorely missed. Back in 2021, Nestle asked the public which retro chocolate they'd like to see make a comeback, and the Coffee Creme was overwhelmingly voted for.

In the post's comments, the reaction to the Honeycomb Crunch was mixed. One person raged: "I’m not buying any until you bring back the coffee cream!" Another wrote: "Bring back the coffee ones."

Someone else fumed: "Can't stand honeycomb crunch, it's boring, bring back coffee creams." While another coffee lover commented: "Every year I type the same thing. Bring back the COFFEE FONDANT!"

However, other chocolate fans were happy with the Honeycomb Crunch return, with some commenting heart eyes emojis to mark their festive comeback.
