A 69-run last wicket stand between Gurinder Sandhu and Mitchell Swepson has put Queensland in control at lunch on day two of the Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria.
Queensland resumed at 6-130 in reply to Victoria's first innings tally of 63 and were soon 9-136 at Brisbane's Allan Border Field.
Sandhu (42) and Swepson (28no) combined in a 72-ball partnership that swung the game decisively in the home side's favour, adding more for the last wicket partnership than Victoria had scored in their entire innings.
Queensland were dismissed for 205, a first-innings lead of 142, before paceman Michael Neser removed Travis Dean (0) on the cusp of lunch to put the visitors in early trouble at 1-2 in their second innings.
Neser has enjoyed a fine match to date. He captured 4-22 in Victoria's first innings before making 31 with the bat.
Victoria's bowlers did get them back in the game with Test paceman Scott Boland (3-41) and fellow fast bowlers Cameron McClure (3-53) and Will Sutherland (3-46) all chipping in.
