Qatar PM appears to snub JD Vance at US-Iran peace talks

This is the awkward moment JD Vance appears to be snubbed by Qatar’s prime minister during the US-Iran peace talks in Switzerland.

The clip, from Sunday (21 June), shows Qatari prime minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, walking past Vance without acknowledging him to greet Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif as Vance looks on.

Vance appears to try and prompt a conversation by saying, “Hey,” though the Qatari leader appears momentarily confused.

The incident sparked conversation online, saying the Qatari PM ‘snubbed’ the US vice president.

At the quadrilateral meeting held in Burgestock, Switzerland between the United States, Iran, Pakistan and Qatar, diplomats aimed at negotiating steps to end the war in the Middle East.
