Talks are set to begin on Monday between Qatar’s Prime Minister, Israel’s Mossad chief, and Egyptian officials to discuss a potential ceasefire in Gaza in exchange for the release of hostages held by Hamas, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.
Hamas recently presented a new set of demands, which include the release of a significant number of Palestinian prisoners and the establishment of a permanent ceasefire agreement.
In response to these demands, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Hamas is maintaining unrealistic requests. However, Israel has announced that a delegation will soon travel to Doha to engage in further discussions.
