With defending champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty pulling out due to an injury to the former, PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy lead the Indian challenge at the Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) in Ningbo, China.
Unseeded Sindhu, who is working hard to get back to her best, is expected to clear the first two rounds. She begins against Goh Jin Wei of Malaysia and is likely to face sixth seed Han Yue of China. Sindhu enjoys a decent record against both these players. She may face fourth seed Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the quarterfinals.
