'Putin's murderous and torturing troops can't escape justice for slaughtering innocents'

War criminal Vladimir Putin’s raping, torturing and mass murdering military forces cannot be allowed to escape condemnation and charges for the grisly slaughter of innocents in Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv speak for the world’s common people when they demand an international trial of the guilty men, headed by the cold-blooded invader himself.

Nobody pretends it will be easy. Perhaps this is a mission impossible – Putin may never leave Russia again, except to visit allies, or he will demand immunity from arrest.

But we owe it to the thousands of victims of merciless atrocities to document their suffering, tell the world and at least try to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Arrogant mob

Conservative Cabinet Ministers grandly dismissing law-breaking at the heart of Boris Johnson’s incompetent government demonstrate why the illegal Covid parties do matter.

Snooty Jacob Rees-Mogg peering down his nose to inform the little people it “isn’t the most important issue in the world” and Simon Hart loftily decreeing the “world has moved on” heightens the contempt of decent Britons who endured huge personal sacrifices to follow Johnson and the Tories’ draconian rules.

The PM and his apologists are shameless when they hide behind Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine to protect Johnson.

Britain changed Prime Ministers during the First World War and twice during the Second – Johnson must be held accountable.

Ender an era

AS the much-loved Dot Cotton character on EastEnders for more than three decades, actress June Brown was part of the family for millions of Britons.

Life on Albert Square started in her 50s and the death of Brown at the age of 95 brings the curtain down on a long career, leaving TV soap fans with countless engaging memories.
