The largest country is Europe by land size announced plans to end its cooperation on one of the key pieces to space exploration and data collection Tuesday.

What Happened: Russia announced Tuesday it will pull out of the International Space Station after 2024, choosing to instead focus on building its own orbiting outpost, as reported by the Associated Press.
