Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated president-elect Donald Trump on his victory on Thursday during a speech at the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi. Putin expressed his willingness to work with any head of state trusted by the American people, emphasizing the importance of practical cooperation.
Trump's stance on US support for Ukraine's war effort has raised concerns, as he has indicated a potential end to such assistance and suggested a quick resolution to the conflict with Russia. His vice-president-elect JD Vance has proposed a peace plan that aligns closely with Putin's preferences.
