Fans of the cue sports game Pure Pool have good news as the wait for a sequel is nearly over, particularly for players on the PlayStation 5 and PCs. According to information on publisher Ripstone’s website, the follow-up Pure Pool Pro will be coming to the two platforms in just a week, on February 12. If you’re looking forward to some pool action on an Xbox Series console, you will have to wait just a bit longer, as that version will not be available until the spring.
What Will Pure Pool Pro Include?
Now that the game is nearly here, there’s never been a better time to look at what the game has to offer as you decide if it’s the right choice for you, starting with the game modes available to play:
- Career Mode: In career mode, you can play 8-ball and 9-ball matches across hundreds of events as you build your name from the bottom of the sport to its very upper reaches, with three difficulty settings to choose from.
- Mini Games: Pool-based minigames allow you to challenge yourself in fun ways separate from the traditional gaming mode. Minigame options include Speed Pot, Checkpoint, Accumulator, Perfect Potter, and Royal Rumble games.
- Daily Challenges: Every day, Pool Pro Pro will present players with a Daily Clearance challenge to take on, with players earning rewards for building a streak of successful clearances of the daily task.
- Global Rankings: Like any modern sports game, online play will be available with ranked games, allowing you move up and down the rankings as you play in an attempt to climb as high on the world ladder as possible.
- Local Play: Grab a friend or two and hit the virtual felt for some offline multiplayer if that is your preference.
No modern video game release is complete without talking about the pretty visuals on offer, and Ripstone has promised a lot for Pure Pool Pro. The game will feature 8K visuals, allowing you to experience the most realistic possible graphics in your virtual pool experience. To take advantage of this, the game will also feature a variety of cosmetic unlocks, allowing you to change the look of your cues, balls, and tabletops to make your own custom visual style.
On the gameplay front, the game promises 20 different AI opponents to take on, each with its own unique playstyle and personality. They will also feature a reactive AI capable of identifying your playing tendencies and adjust accordingly to play shots that make things difficult for you when it’s your turn to step up to the table.
