The most decorated player in college basketball this season is eyeing the next level.
Purdue center Zach Edey is declaring for the NBA draft with intent to maintain his college eligibility, he announced in a Tuesday morning tweet.
"Though we fell short of our ultimate goal this season, I loved every second of it," Edey wrote. "I will evaluate my future after going through the (NBA draft) process and look forward to what's next!"
Edey averaged 22.3 points and 12.9 rebounds per game in a dominant 2023 season, a season that ended with him becoming the second Boilermaker after Glenn Robinson in 1994 to be named the AP Player of the Year.

Purdue finished 29–6, won the Big Ten tournament and spent seven weeks ranked No. 1 in the country, but exited the NCAA tournament in historic fashion when it lost to 16-seed Fairleigh Dickinson in the first round on St. Patrick's Day.
