Purdue basketball star Zach Edey reminded fans just how tall he really is Sunday.
After Purdue won the Big Ten regular-season title, the 7’4” center went to cut down a portion of the net to celebrate the Boilermakers’ feat.
There was a ladder near the hoop for team members to use, but Edey pushed it aside. He was able to reach the net without even leaning forward on his tiptoes.
Edey walked away laughing after cutting the net, as he probably guessed he surprised some fans by reaching the net without assistance.
Take a look at the Purdue giant clipping the net in the video below.
In the Boilermakers’ regular-season finale against Illinois, Edey recorded 17 points, six rebounds and two assists in a 76–71 win. Purdue (26-5, 15-5 Big Ten) will be the No. 1 seed in this week’s Big Ten conference tournament.
