More than 100 youngsters were awarded for not missing a single day of school.
Schoolchildren from Newcastle had clocked-up between three and 10 years of 100% attendance rates.
The youngsters were handed goody bags and certificates at an awards night at St James' Park, supported by local businesses, including the Evening Chronicle, Metro Centre, Asda, and Newcastle's Centre for Life.
They also had the chance to meet Newcastle United players Michael Bridges and Peter Ramage.
The celebration for 120 children, aged between five and 18, was organised by Newcastle City Council's education welfare service.
Among them was Damien Barlow, 15, from Westerhope, managed to accumulate nine years of 100% attendance at Gosforth High School, despite being struck down with chicken pox just one day before half term.
He said: "I really like going to school, as I like seeing all my friends there and don't like to miss anything.
"The only thing I would miss school for would be if I was offered tickets to go to the Glastonbury music festival."
Mum Sharon said: "I do see it as a big achievement, although Damien doesn't. I work as a teaching assistant with kids who are not good attendees and then miss out on schooling. I would encourage Damien early on not to take time off school but now he never asks to be off."
Sports enthusiast Roisin Myers, 11, from South Gosforth, was among the children awarded for three years of full attendance.
Roisin, a pupil at St Catherine's School in Sandyford, in Newcastle, said: "I tried not to get ill because I really like going to school, especially when I can do PE, but if I got to meet any of the Newcastle United players I would definitely miss school."
Mum Michelle said: "It's crucial that every day matters to school children. Roisin is fully active in the life of the school, she plays lots of sport and she is on the school council, and I think that is why she enjoys it so much."
A draw also saw the youngsters win tickets to Metroland and sports gift vouchers.
Gillian Maclauchlan, from the education welfare service, said: "This is an excellent way of rewarding pupils for their remarkable achievements."
