Punjab: Valmiki bodies express resentment over CM Bhagwant Mann's absence at event, warn of movement

AMRITSAR: While expressing resentment over Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's absence during the Pargat Diwas event for Adi Kavi Karuna Sagar Bhagwan Valmiki, various Valmiki bodies have warned to initiate a movement against the government's alleged lackdasical attitude to their demands.

"Valmiki bodies including Bhagwan Valmiki Ashram Dhuna Sahib Trust, Sant Samj and Safai Mazdoro Federation Punjab had made elaborate preparations to welcome Mann who was to make announcement of fulfilment of some of our demands on Saturday but he chose to remain absent from our function which has caused widespread resentment in the samaj,” said Kamal Khosla Trust’s chief general secretary adding that they were assured several times by the senior officials of Amritsar administration about the Mann’s arrival in the scheduled programme.
