Chandigarh : Panjab University (PU) slipped from 175th to 197th position in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings-2022 released on Wednesday.
PU’s overall score remained in the 32 to 37. 9 bracket. It received 52. 6 in citation, 35. 4 in industry income, 16. 5 in international outlook, 18. 2 in research and 39. 2 in teaching.
Professor Sanjeev Sharma, director, IQAC, PU said “The ranking is yet to be evaluated. A review will be done to find out what improvements can be made. ”
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, remained on the top in India with 42nd rank. Its overall score was 52.
IIT-Ropar, IIT-Indore, BHU, Institute of Chemical Technology, Delhi University, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune and Kolkata, IIT-Gandhinagar, JNU and King George Medical University were some of the universities ahead of PU.
