Punjab tells high court security withdrawal was ‘transitory’

Chandigarh : Punjab’s Aam Aadmi Party government on Thursday informed the Punjab and Haryana high court that the order regarding withdrawal of security of all the VVIP/protectees was transitory and the security of all such persons would be restored by June 7.

In a formal statement made before the high court, the Punjab government said that the security cover of around 434 protectees was temporarily withdrawn due to ‘Ghallughara’ (Operation Bluestar anniversary) and would be automatically restored from June 7.
