Punjab: BSF foils drone smuggling in Amritsar, recovers two drones and

Two drones and heroin were recovered by BSF in Amritsar

Amritsar: The Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Friday recovered two drones and one packet of suspected heroin at three different places in the border area of district Amritsar.

Based on information from the BSF intelligence wing, the troops foiled the attempt of drone smuggling through the border.

Official statement
According to an official statement, one packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 570 Grams) was recovered by BSF troops during the night hours of October 31 at about 11:15 pm from a harvested paddy field adjacent to the village- Pulmoran of Amritsar district.

The narcotics were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and a steel ring and an illuminating strip were also found attached to the packet.

The first drone (DJI Mavic 3 Classic) was recovered by BSF troops at about midnight 12:30 am from a farming field adjacent to the village- Pulmoran, Amritsar.

Second drone recovered
The second drone (DJI Mavic 3 Classic) was recovered by BSF troops during morning hours at about 08:45 am from a farming field adjacent to the village- Dhanoe Kalan of Amritsar district.

The reliable input from the BSF intelligence wing and the timely action of diligent BSF troops foiled these drone intrusions and narco-smuggling attempts from across the border.

Earlier on October 29, acting on specific information about smuggling activity near the border, alert troops of BSF successfully nabbed 3 Narco Smugglers alongwith one packet of Heroin and 2 smartphones in the late evening hours along the Amritsar border. All the apprehended smugglers are residents of Border villages of Amritsar.

The smugglers have been handed over to police for further investigation to establish their possible links to Pakistan-based narcotics networks. This significant apprehension reflects BSF's professional competence and dedication to securing our borders & combating cross-border smuggling.

On October 28, acting on specific information from BSF's intelligence wing about a suspected narco-drone, alert troops of BSF recovered 1 deone and 480 grams of Heroin from a farming field during a search operation near village Roranwala Khurd in Amritsar district. The narcotics were concealed in a plastic bottle, wrapped in yellow tape, with an improvised ring and illuminating strip attached. The drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic.
