Pune shivers at 8.5°C, 3rd coldest place in Maharashtra after Nashik, Ahmednagar

PUNE: The Shivajinagar observatory, which covers the core area of the city, recorded 8.5°C on Tuesday — the lowest temperature of the season so far. Pune was the third coldest place in Maharashtra after Nashik (6.3°C) and Ahmednagar (7.9°C).

On Monday, the city’s mercury level had dropped to 10.4°C. Tuesday’s minimum was 2.6 °C below normal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. Lohegaon recorded a minimum temperature of 10.7 °C, which was 2.3°C below normal.
